I am reviewing a nice post by Freshome here, take a look.
Seeing the house for the first time, I immediately fell in love with the unusual brown color it does possess. This so-called Lighthouse is particularly established for a family consisting of five members. Designed by Linebox Studio and built on 4500 square feet ground in Ottawa’s Lindenlea community, the residence becomes an ideal home for those residing in there. Even though the façade is not that spectacular, it successfully creates a fine impression of such a homey space for living. The use of non-transparent glass windows on door indicates that the house residents demand more privacy. Using wood as its main material, the Lighthouse offers the sense of warmth that might not be presented by other houses in common.
It is so regrettable, however, that the inner side of the house is not much exposed. What can be seen through the glass window from the existing pictures is merely a small part of it. We even have no idea regarding how the rooms are organized, what kind of furniture placed inside the house, what colors applied on the walls, how the kitchen looks like, where the bathrooms are, how the family room is arranged, whether or not the rooms are artistically decorated, and so on. We also don’t know whether all bedrooms are located on the upper level—like what I suppose them to be—or whether they are put on the lower level. The number of the bedroom itself is also not mentioned.
Let’s just make use of our imagination and assume that the house consists of five family members as it is meant to be. These five people are husband and wife with three children, for instance. For the family members themselves, at least there are four bedrooms needed: one for parents and the three others are for children. If we believe that the family is warm enough to welcome any guests coming in, let’s add one more bedroom provided for the guests. Thus, there will be five bedrooms at least, and they are all located on the upper ground, separated from the social space. No matter how the interior design appears to be, though, I believe that having this type of house in such a quiet and soothing place is more than just wonderful.
