I am reviewing a nice post by Freshome here, take a look.
Executing the notion of old versus new requires creative minds. An innovative interior designer, Kelly Reynolds, becomes one of those trying to manifest this unique idea in remodeling a house. The 93-square-meter area—which was a former warehouse back then—is now transformed into a charming, fine-looking place for living in which people would never mind residing for a lifetime. Examining the first picture, we can see the way luminous furniture goes along with the brick walls surrounding them, and this clearly depicts the combination of modern and classic interior design. The renovation is applied on the whole building, bringing an amazingly chic residence as its outcome.
There is only one bedroom as the general aim of the residence is to provide space for those who are still single. Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean that this loft aims to be inhabited by the one and only person. In the bedroom, for instance, double bed is smartly chosen to make possible the presence of another person—if there’s any. Therefore, this residence can be occupied by a young couple or two close friends, for instance. If we carefully observe, the kitchen is somehow too big for those living solely, so I think it’s actually designed to facilitate some small home parties (that will probably be) held by the owner of the house. A large, cozy sofa bed provided in the family room enables one or two friends to stay overnight whenever it’s necessary. In addition, two orange chairs which are put side by side enable the guest(s) to come in and have some little chit-chat with the house’s owner. There are also two bathrooms, one of which can be functioned as the guests’ bathroom or for another person who may live in this superior loft.
Thus, different from common single apartment which is usually limited in terms of space and facilities—for example: single bedroom, single chair, small kitchen, one narrow bathroom along with the toilet bowl put within the same space—this loft provides an opportunity for its owner to “invite” another person to live together. Overall, the loft is such a nice choice for those who are craving for privacy but not ready enough to live lonely all the time.
